(TRAVPR.COM) UK - September 17th, 2014 - Today MetaMarketplace, a travel technology company, announced the acquisition of London-based B2B vacation rental platform IAVRA by its parent Demeure Operating Company.
IAVRA’s B2B focused vacation rental marketplace connects 2000+ international travel professionals to a curated portfolio of 8,000+ professionally managed properties across 58 countries. MetaMarketplace gives businesses the tools and the supply to build their own travel marketplaces. This new partnership bolsters the MetaMarketplace offering as marketplace partners now have access to an extensive, tried and trusted portfolio of villas, city apartments, chalets, lodges and vacation rentals of all types and budgets.
IAVRA founding partner JC Moquette explains, “We had both identified the same industry challenges of fragmentation and unregulated product. We were independently helping businesses access qualified professionally managed vacation rentals in a transparent and efficient way. Joining forces was an obvious next step. Together we have a larger portfolio of properties curated to meet trade-quality standards, new tools to offer our partners, and with MetaMarketplace’s bold new model, the chance to extend something really valuable and unique to the industry – an easy way to build travel marketplaces that connect certified accommodation to previously unreachable channels of demand.”
MetaMarketplace gives buyers and sellers a powerful infrastructure to connect the right kinds of supply with the right kinds of demand. It is a network of previously untapped channels, where travel suppliers “push out” their properties to organizations with committed travelers who “pull in” selections to their own branded marketplaces. Behind this network is a growing portfolio of certified vacation rentals and boutique hotels. The quality of this portfolio is integral to the success of MetaMarketplace as it ensures that buyers have the confidence to extend their brands with some of the most desirable new experiences in travel.
According to Demeure CEO, Peter Schwartz, “With IAVRA on board, our marketplace partners have easy access to a dynamic and trustworthy portfolio of certified properties curated to meet the demand of their travelers without the need to establish hundreds of commercial relations”. He also asserts that Marketplaces are the right model for the business, as they function on sound principles of commerce and transparent, authentic relationships. “The end result is more value for buyers and sellers alike and a place where travelers want to book their vacation rentals.”
MetaMarketplace is attracting a variety of participants who share this view of the industry. Sellers include the world’s top vacation rental management companies and boutique hotels in popular destinations worldwide. Buyers include established travel agencies, but also membership-based organizations with captive audiences such as loyalty programs and timeshare operators.
