Industry: Destinations

The Seychelles Islands plan to market scuba diving, it’s rich culture and sustainability to the US market

(TRAVPR.COM) SEYCHELLES - April 14th, 2023 - Visitors to Seychelles can explore the country's rich culture and history, with landmarks such as the Victoria Clocktower and the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve. Seychelles is also home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches.

In addition to its natural beauty, Seychelles offers a range of activities for visitors to enjoy, such as hiking, fishing, and golfing, or simply relax on the beach and soak up the sun. The country (made up of 115 islands) is a top destination for snorkeling, scuba diving, and sailing, with a variety of tours and excursions available to explore the underwater world.

David Germain, the Tourism Seychelles Regional Director for Africa & the Americas, exhibited for the Seychelles Islands at the exhibition, said “Seychelles participation at this important diving exhibition was a first for Seychelles in North America, and I am very encouraged and satisfied with the outcome of our participation, very positive indeed.”

With limpid warm turquoise waters, and a climate of perpetual summer, Seychelles is perfect for diving, with superb diving sites at some of the oldest granite and coral waters of the Indian ocean, diving where very few have gone before.

“The North American market is a very important market for Seychelles, as we continue to register a steady growth year on year since 2018, and it is thus very important to continue to educate the North American travel trade about the archipelago. Travel Agents have great power to influence and direct consumer demands, they are a liaison between supply & demand, and thus essential partners for Seychelles in North America,” stated David Germain.

Seychelles is committed to sustainable tourism, with a focus on preserving the country's natural beauty and protecting its environment. The government has implemented a range of initiatives to promote sustainable tourism, including a ban on single-use plastics and a program to protect the country's sea turtles.

Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or simply a break from the stresses of everyday life, Seychelles offers something for everyone. With its natural beauty, rich culture, scuba diving, and commitment to sustainability, Seychelles is truly Another World.
