(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - February 8th, 2026 - Chandigarh | 7 February — At the prestigious 15th Rose Festival held at Panjab University, Chandigarh, from 6th February to 8th February, Chef Sahil, Executive Chef at Ava Hotel, Zirakpur, won the 1st Prize in the Fruit & Vegetable Carving Competition.
Chef Sahil impressed the judges and audience with his exceptional craftsmanship and creativity. His highlight creations included a beautifully carved Cute Little “Makhanchor Shri Krishna” and an equally captivating Cute Little “Bholenath” (Lord Shiva view), both carved on watermelons. Along with these main pieces, he also showcased multiple intricate carvings on smaller fruits and vegetables such as turnips, pumpkin, oranges, and beetroot.
What made the presentation stand out even more was the overall display—Chef Sahil curated the carvings in a well-decorated greenery-based theme, giving it a premium, artistic, and visually striking look, as seen in the presentation.
