(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - January 16th, 2013 - Fisherman's Rest, in partnership with Mary's Meals, has started The Good Food Project, funded by the ONE foundation and Noble Foods.
The project gives every child in school one hot meal a day. It costs £10.70 a year to feed a Child (that's a Starbucks coffee with a friend) but means that every day children have enough food to concentrate in school, and also motivation to learn rather than beg or work the fields for food.
Many children in Malawi survive off just one meal a day - just a small plate of potatoes. Often eating late at night in the dark, huddled with their family, they hope no-one will knock at their door expecting them to share what little they have.
The Good Food is a fantastic project which schools, families and visitors are jumping to get involved in! Everyone can make a difference in this fantastic project by helping to raise funds to build kitchens which serve porridge and help Malawi's children grow up with a better outlook. The Good Food Project also encourages supporters to come out to Malawi, experiencing the beauty of "The Warm Heart of Africa" but also to meet the children they are supporting, and get involved in the charities work.
