Ocean rower and adventurer, Charlie Pitcher, is about to embark on his toughest challenge to date.
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - January 23rd, 2013 - Charlie Pitcher will attempt to row across the Atlantic Ocean solo in under 40 days in order to beat the current world record of 40 days, 9 hours and 44 minutes … 1 man, 2 oars!
Starting in the Canary Island of La Gomera, Charlie will row the 3000 miles to Barbados in the Caribbean.
Not only will he attempt to break the record, but he will also be raising money for charity with every pull on the oars – for the Great Ormond Street Hospital and The C Group Charity supporting Royal Marines who have sustained injuries on operations. Charlie hopes to raise over £100,000
With plans to set off at the end of January 2013 [it is all reliant on the weather conditions], Corona Holidays have pledged £2 for every booking received during Charlie’s voyage, which will be divided between the 2 charities.
