ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES TO START NEW SERVICES TO BLANTYRE

Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Africa, is pleased to introduce three weekly flights to Blantyre starting March 31, 2013.

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - January 28th, 2013 - Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Africa, is pleased to introduce three weekly flights to Blantyre starting March 31, 2013.

Blantyre is the commercial and industrial capital of Malawi. It will be the airlines 44th destination in Africa and the second in Malawi next to Lilongwe.

The largest urban area in Malawi, Blantyre now has a population in excess of half a million. This settlement has its origins with the Scottish missionaries from the time of David Livingstone. (It is named after Livingstone’s birthplace in Scotland.) Today it is unquestionably the centre of Malawi’s industry and commerce.

“Ethiopian, as a flagship carrier of Africa, is pleased to add Blantyre to its wide route network and to offer passengers to and from the city the best possible connectivity through its Addis Ababa hub,” said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian.
