(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - February 1st, 2013 - Swaziland's Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary has confirmed the presence of leopards in the park! The confirmation of the reserve’s newest residents follows several guest sightings as well as fresh tracks having been discovered, most recently of an adult and two cubs! Though usually seen in savannah and rainforest habitats, leopards are extremely adaptable, with populations inhabiting grassland, woodland and riverine areas. Leopards usually rest during the daytime in trees and thick bush with their spotted coat providing camouflage.
Mlilwane, Swaziland’s pioneer conservation area, is a beautiful, secluded sanctuary situated in Swaziland’s ‘Valley of Heaven’, the Ezulwini Valley, in between Mbabane and Manzini.
Also recently spotted is the elusive Narina Trogon, more commonly spotted at Mkhaya Game Reserve. Trogon nests are notoriously difficult to find as they nest in natural tree cavities and are very reluctant to approach nest holes when humans are in the vicinity. The beautiful bird’s diet consists mainly of insects and small invertebrates as well as rodents and small reptiles.
