(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - February 8th, 2013 - As part of National Geographic’s “Earth in the age of Man” documentary, which looks at earth, the environment and how man lives and survives using resources around him, the team at Danforth Yachting on the shores of Lake Malawi have played host to a group of technicians and broadcasters. Filming took place over ten days, with Danforth ensuring that the group was kept supplied with food, water as well as diving equipment and a professional divemaster to oversee the safety aspect of the diving. After a tiring 10 days of shooting the team left Danforth grateful for their hospitality and pleased with the footage they had shot.
The focus of the film is on the positive interaction between man and nature. They filmed the cichlids, cat fish, fishermen, fishing practices and captured images of few village scenes as well. The series is due for release in 2014!
Danforth really pulled out the stops for the National Geographic team, as they do for all their clients. The Cedar Wood boat ‘Shenzi’ used by the crew was given a full make-over ahead of its appearance in the limelight, with a complete scrub down and repaint. Getting it out of the water wasn’t too difficult, but getting it to roll back down the hill into Lake Malawi, perhaps thought to be the easiest direction to maneuver the boat, proved a little more difficult with a large team of men all giving it a big push. Finally, it rolled back in, and looking better than ever!
