The next traditional Mimosa Festival of Mandelieu-La Napoule will take place from 15th to 24th February 2013 on France's sunny Cote d'Azur.
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - February 12th, 2013 - This ten-day span encompasses two weekends, both of which will host parades festooned with flowered floats. This means twice the amount of fun for visitors attending to learn more about this most beautiful of flowers.
There are a variety of special events planned for the 2013 celebration of the Mimosa. One of the most exciting is a guided coach trip tentatively titled From Mimosa to Perfume, during which visitors will be able to tour both a facility where mimosas are grown and a perfumery where the delicate blossoms are transformed into wonderful scents and fragrances for the boudoir.
This detailed trip and tour will take an estimated four hours to complete and is scheduled to leave at 2.15pm on the 15th, 18th and 21st February, and at 8.15am on the 16th and 23rd February.
Another event not to be missed is the opening of the festival, which will take place on 15th February at 7pm at the Our Lady of the Mimosas chapel, which is known in French as Notre Dame des Mimosas. Unlike the guided coach trip mentioned previously, the opening festivities are open to all free of charge. There is, however, limited space around the chapel, so an early arrival is urged.
Another popular event this year will be the return of walking tours that take visitors on a circuit around ‘Mimosa Country’, which of course refers to Mandelieu-La Napoule itself. The town is located along the Mediterranean seashore of northern France. The walks take around two hours and leave at 1.30pm on various days.
