The Tortuga Bay Boutique Hotel, the “Casa Colonial Beach & Spa” Boutique Hotel and the “Hostal Nicolas de Ovando” were recently included in a list of the best hotels in Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, and Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic. The Tortuga Bay, however, was also included in the magazine’s list of “Best Hotels in the Caribbean 2013.”

The 56-room Tortuga Bay Hotel were designed by famed Dominican-American designer Oscar de la Renta who was inspired by the local Taino culture. The Tainos were the original inhabitants of the island. The beachfront boutique hotel “Casa Colonial” Beach & Spa is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Situated in the “Playa Dorada” tourism complex, in the north coast city of Puerto Plata, it is a 10-minute drive from the downtown section of the city.
