Christmas in Scandinavia with a difference – Aurora Borealis, Glass Igloos & Aurora Safari Camp.
The Aurora Safari & Treehotel – Christmas Special, stays at the recently launched Aurora Safari Camp, an innovative ‘African’ style luxury camp in the Swedish Wilderness. Set above the Arctic Circle, it is a great place to see the Aurora Borealis, explore the Swedish forests and lakes and partake in winter activities. Owner and founder, Fredrik Broman, is a professional Photographer who offers photography classes specialising in capturing the Northern lights. Guests can enjoy dog sledding, elk spotting, canoeing and snowshoe walking at the camp.
The laavu tents at the Aurora Safari camp use the traditional Nordic tipi design from the Sami reindeer-‐herding people but with 21st century materials and construction techniques. The tents are snug and comfortable with plenty of room to move inside. There are wood fire heaters in the tents and of course there is a special lounge tent to dine and relax together with a full bar. The Safari Camp offers families a unique chance to enjoy Scandinavian Christmas traditions including the obligatory Santa visit whilst being close to nature.
The 6-‐day Aurora Safari and Treehotel – Christmas Special package includes 2 nights at the Aurora Safari Camp, 1 night in a Swedish cabin and 2 nights at the Treehotel, for $3590 per person. There are also family packages available. Highlights on this tour include a snow mobile safari, Christmas Eve Santa visit, Christmas dinner and classic Swedish Saunas.
Santa, Elves & Glass Igloos is a new itinerary that combines travellers desire to see the Aurora Borealis by travelling above the Arctic Circle during the Christmas period. Staying at the Glass Igloos, which enhance your chances to see the Northern lights in comfort, will certainly be a highlight for this tour. Included is a visit to Santa’s Resort, an intimate Christmas Eve church service, cosy log cabins, a snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm and many more great family activities to enjoy.
