(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - March 7th, 2013 - With the world preparing for the celebrations of International Women’s Day, Indian women are not far behind in planning and contemplating how to pamper themselves on this special day. The women of today like to do things their way and the same applies for the celebrations of this special day. Spas, shopping, sailing, global trotting- name it and they have done it all or are ready to do it.

2013 has proven to be a lucky year for the women as the International Women’s day is on Friday, an excuse for prolonging the celebrations over an extended weekend. So ladies as you plan your “my time” we give you a few 5 top destinations to contemplate on where you can go on an all girls trip. After all you are worth it!

1.)    For beachcombers - Goa

Pull those swim suits/shorts out of the closet, pack your flip flops, a tube of sunscreen, straw hats, shades and head straight to Goa. Goa as a holiday destination never fails; it has something for every individual. Take a lazy walk down the beach, go for early morning swims, bask in the sun and indulge in a relaxing spa. Make merry with bonfires and music in the evenings; try different cuisines and gulp down the local beer. Go sea shell hunting or visit the Anjuna Flea Market to buy intriguing and colourful knick knacks. Take scooter rides around the town; retire for a quiet night with the sounds of breaking waves or just party the night away with your girl friends!

Must Do: Gorge on the very delicious crab curry served at the legendary Souza Lobo, located on Calangute Beach.

Be spunky and get a henna tattoo done. These are not permanent tattoos and many places offer these tattoos along the beach. Oh, and get your hair braided while you are there!

Mahashivratri is just round the corner (10th March) so you can be a part of the Mahashivratri celebrations at the Mahabaleshwar Temple. Apart from being a temple town, Gokarna has a fun side to it too; the beaches of Gokarna are a hippy haven completed with fun, music and hammocks.
