(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - March 18th, 2013 - The Tongole Foundation, a Registered UK Charity set up by the owners of Tongole Wilderness Lodge in Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, are pleased to announce an new collaboration between Arsenal Football Club in the UK and their community projects in Malawi.
The club are working with the Tongole Foundation to attain their main goal; to equip local and budding football coaches to use football at the grassroots level to impact their local communities. The project is covering a total of four continents! In April, along with a staff member from Arsenal in the Community (AitC), two Gappers will be spending two months in Malawi coaching football and assisting with English classes in local schools. Whilst there, the Gappers will teach the coaches through practical support and assisting in sessions.
Before that, a ‘Coaching the Coaches’ week, designed for local Malawians will be held in partnership with the Tongole Foundation. Selected coaches will be shown how to deliver fun and simple sessions which will allow young people of varying ages and abilities to take part in the ‘beautiful game’. Educating local coaches with the best skills is vital as the foundation aims to create a sustainable project where the locals lead with the skills the Gappers introduced.
This will be an exciting adventure as AitC aim to increase the participation in sport across the world, with the Tongole Foundation in Malawi working in partnership, it is sure to be a great success.
