The 23rd International Wildlife Film Festival will be held in Albert from 16 to 24 March 2013.

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - March 21st, 2013 - The 23rd International Wildlife Film Festival, which has been held exclusively in Albert for the past two decades, focuses on a range of environmental issues, including hunting, fishing, and wildlife.  

Entrants need not be professional wildlife filmmakers and submissions may include documentaries and reports, as well as both fiction and non-fiction live-action and animated films made within the last year.

Visitors and participants alike will be treated to a ‘programme of discovery’ featuring not only film screenings, but a number of sessions and theme nights, nature walks and discussions, and a variety of wildlife exhibitions throughout the festival.

All films that are selected for the festival will be presented to an international and professional jury comprising individuals who are well-known for their commitment, competence, and dedication to the preservation of the environment and wildlife.  Films will also be screened for a public and school audience.  Regardless of origin, all films will be shown in French.

The festival will be held in the Théâtre du Jeu de Paume from Saturday, 16 March to Sunday, 24 March 2013.

On the last Sunday of the festival, the organisers will hold an award ceremony for the best films, distributing prizes such as Best Conservation Film, Best Scientific Film, Best Editing, Best Photography, and the Audience Award.

Created in 1991, the International Wildlife Film Festival was the brainchild of twelve volunteers hoping to bring more awareness to the struggles of wildlife and the environment.  Originally designed as a cultural challenge, the festival is now a highly regarded staple among seasoned directors and producers as well as amateurs.
