Athletes and spectators alike head to Mallorca for the third edition of the TriStar Mallorca this April.
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - April 10th, 2013 - As one of the best loved races in the TriStar series, the TriStar Mallorca 2013 is set to be one of the first competitions of the European triathlon season this April.
Presented by Star Events, a Monaco-based company, the TriStar Mallorca will focus on social responsibility, environmental protection, and most importantly, fun.
In keeping with tradition, the three most popular sports disciplines of swimming, running, and cycling are an important factor, of course, but organisers want to make the competition accessible to everyone so they have employed what is known as the ‘TriStar open format.’
Because the TriStar event series offers a unique spin on triathlon competitions, athletes of all levels are able to pick and choose which events they participate in, and at which level, as long as they meet the minimum age requirement.
TriStar Mallorca 2013, which is a more traditional version of the triathlon, will welcome about 1,000 participants while the alternative courses of TriStar111 and TriStar55.5 will welcome approximately 700.
After the success of the 2012 season, TriStar Mallorca organisers have decided to use the same courses. The swimming section will take place in the Porto Colom harbour, while the cycling part will take competitors on a scenic tour of Sant Salvador. Runners will experience the old town as they run along the beaches and bay.
The TriStar Mallorca 2013 triathlon will take place on Sunday, 7 April 2013 in Mallorca, Spain. The TriStar111 and TriStar55.5 formats will take place a week later on Sunday, 14 April 2013. Roads will be closed to traffic during the competition times.
As temperatures in Mallorca in the spring range from 17-18 degrees Celsius, wetsuits are mandatory.
