MONADNOCK MUSIC ANNOUNCES 2013 SUMMER FESTIVAL

The 48th season offers a stunning variety of music from opera, chamber music, vocal and piano soloists, and works for chamber orchestra.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - April 15th, 2013 -PETERBOROUGH, NH -- Monadnock Music Artistic Director Gil Rose and Executive Director William Chapman announced details related to the 2013 Festival, which runs from July 14 through August 25, 2013. A total of 19 concerts take place throughout the Monadnock region in historic meeting houses and churches. Season features seven ticketed concerts at the Peterborough Town House, 11 free Village Concerts, and an outdoor concert with fireworks.

Now in his second year as Monadnock Music Artistic Director, Gil Rose has assembled a season that continues the new artistic journey on which the organization embarked in the 2012 season. “What Gil and I have tried to do in our second season together at Monadnock Music, is to pack as much vision, diversity, and artistry into what is still a very intimate and informal festival, with a distinctly New England style,” states Monadnock Music Executive Director William Chapman. “The way Gil has expressed the mission, vision, and values of Monadnock Music through our 2013 season program is nothing short of breathtaking. I can’t wait for the season to open!”

Artistic Director Gil Rose adds, “There's nothing in New England quite like Monadnock Music. It's an incredible privilege to present such a diverse array of music. There's everything from a modern opera set in Peterborough and music inspired by Stephen Sondheim to an outdoor band concert with fireworks. Of course, we continue to feature music by such beloved composers as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert -- but always within a context that excites and challenges audiences.”
