Hong Kong Foodie, the city's first licensed tour company that focuses on exploring Hong Kong's culinary culture, is pleased to announce its new tour in Kowloon -- the Sham Shui Po Foodie Tour.
(TRAVPR.COM) HONG KONG - April 23rd, 2013 - Hong Kong Foodie today announces the launch of Sham Shui Po Foodie Tour. It takes Foodie enthusiasts on a journey to Kowloon to explore a truly unique neighborhood of Hong Kong not often frequented by visitors to Hong Kong. The first tour will begin on Friday, 10th May, 2013.
“Sham Shui Po is a fascinating neighborhood in Kowloon which offers delectable food. Known to many Hong Kong locals as a foodie enclave, Sham Shui Po houses a plethora of eateries serving some of our city’s favorite treats,” says Cecilia Leung, Founder & Director of Hong Kong Foodie.
From breakfast till lunch, Foodie participants will indulge in authentic local tastings beyond what is typically recognized as Hong Kong’s cuisine at six family-run eateries. The tour will further explore some secrets to Cantonese cuisines, from its ingredients to its cookware. Accompanied by a fun Foodie guide, participants will also be immersed in this working class community to experience a local’s everyday life.
“We selected Sham Shui Po as the destination of our new tour not just for the food it serves but also for the cultural value it offers. Having escaped much of urban redevelopment in recent years, Sham Shui Po has retained much of its history, tradition and charm. We will venture beyond the typical tourist route to eat and see this old Kowloon neighborhood like a local,” says Ms. Leung. “Whether you are a first-time visitor or a frequent guest of Hong Kong, you would savor a real taste of Hong Kong on this tour.”
The Sham Shui Po Foodie Tour operates on Tuesdays and takes about 3 hours 45 minutes from 9:15 am onwards. Cost is $690 for Adult Foodies (aged 15 and above), HK$490 for Young Foodies (age 5-14). Tickets can be purchased online at www.hongkongfoodietours.com or call +852 2850 5006.
