(savoytheatrelondon.com) LONDON - May 4th, 2013 - Savoy Theatre is having a triumphant time staging performances of Let It Be London. An outstanding musical, it features 20 of the greatest hits of the Beatles. From one of the small clubs from Liverpool’s Cavern Cottage, Beatles claim to fame has been historic. The band comprising John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr is the most successful and popular musical bands in the history of rock music.

Along with the smashing title track, Beatles’ internationally popular numbers that are a part of the show include I Wanna Hold Your Hand, A Hard Day’s Night, Day Tripper, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Strawberry Fields. The musical enjoyed a grand run at the Prince of Wales Theatre London before being transferred to the Savoy Theatre where it is currently running.

The Beatles created their incredible studio masterpieces and left the world infected with their crazy Batlemania. For the Two Hours and 15 minutes it runs at the Savoy Theatre, the musical features video footage narrating their glorious journey that is accompanied by their chart topping numbers. A John Maher directorial, it has designs by Tim McQuillen Wright and lighting by Stephan Gotschel.

A West End theatre venue, Savoy Theatre is located in the Strand, in the City of Westminster, London. Built by Richard D’Oyly Carte, the Savoy Theatre London opened on 10th October 1881. The theatre was erected primarily to host the Gilbert and Sullivan Operas, that later came to be known as Savoy Operas. A Grade II listed theatre venue by the English Heritage, it can accommodate 1,150 audiences in its all three levels.

It was the first theatre in London to be entirely lit by electricity. Some notable shows have been hosted here apart from the premier of Gilbert and Sullivan operas including The Mikado, Blithe Spirit, Fiddler in the Roof, Carousel, Legally Blonde, Carousel and Never Forget.
