Inspired by Livingstone? Like to paint? Fancy a safari? – then this is right down your gravel track!

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - May 10th, 2013 - Inspired by Livingstone? Like to paint? Fancy a safari? – then this is right down your gravel track!

Dr David Livingstone is partly why Art Safari exists... Back in 1991 Director and Malawi expert May-Anne Bartlett followed his footsteps in Malawi with a university expedition and it kick-started her love of Africa.

In memory of Livingstone, Art Safari have now put together two special packages that combine a wonderful adventure in Malawi following in Livingstone’s footsteps, as well giving the opportunity to stop, take in the scenery and put brush to paper.

Art Safari in Livingstone’s footsteps
Rivers, Lakes and Mountains in Malawi 17th to 30th September 2013
For your own Livingstone adventure this year, join Art Safari in Malawi - where explorer descendent Mary-Anne Bartlett leads a tour which traces the great man’s footsteps. Mary-Anne’s forbear Dr John Kirk mapped the area with Livingstone during the second Zambezi expedition from 1859-1864. The stunning scenery of Rivers, Lakes and Mountains makes this perfect for not only wildlife and landscape artists but also non-painting partners who may want to go hiking/riding/kayaking.

Livingstone’s Africa Monday 12th - Monday 19th August 2013
Come to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for an art and photography exhibition celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of Dr David Livingstone with work by Mary-Anne Bartlett and Claire Foottit – both are descendants of Livingstone’s fellow explorers.

Gladstone’s Gallery, Gladstones Land, 477b Lawnmarket, Edinburgh, EH1 2NT
