Survey Shows Weather Doesn’t Deter Campers
(TRAVPR.COM) USA - May 20th, 2013 - Rain or shine, campers will spend Memorial Day Weekend camping around the state, according to a recent New Hampshire Campground Owners’ Association survey. Of 500 respondents, 65 percent said a poor weather forecast wouldn’t cause them to cancel or change their weekend camping plans.
More than 30 percent of those surveyed will be camping during Memorial Day, with the majority of campers staying two nights or more. While many campers will be using an RV, others reported they will be bringing a tent or pop-up camper during the long weekend. About half of campers also said they will be joined by a pet or pets.
“Memorial Day is a great time to go camping,” said Gregg Pitman, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Campground Owners’ Association. “Campers come to New Hampshire for a wide range of activities like hiking, kayaking and fishing. There’s so much to do here.” There are also a wide variety of events going on around the state, Pitman noted, including farmers’ markets, outdoor festivals, a fishing derby and more.
