(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - June 26th, 2013 - Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel is to host the 17th Open Sports Festival during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Offering exciting competitions for both men and women, the sports festival will run between 10 and 31 July, with registrations to participate invited up until July 8.

Among the array of sports on offer are separate men’s and women’s football tournaments; archery, chess, Pistol shooting and judo for both men and women, plus jiu-jitsu, bowling, boxing, group tennis, Ironman and a Play Station competition exclusively for men.

According to Mr Salah Khider, director of operations, Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel, with relaxed working times during Ramadan, the festival presents an ideal opportunity for everyone to celebrate the festival and compete in their sports of choice.

“Now in its 17th year, the Open Sports Festival has established an outstanding reputation as an exhilarating and enjoyable event and we look forward to welcoming Abu Dhabi residents to join us again, either in participating or supporting friends and families.”
