(TRAVPR.COM) USA - July 14th, 2013 - Waterville Valley, NH- On Saturday, July 20, 2013, Waterville Valley’s “Ugotta Regatta” returns to the waters of Corcoran Pond with canoe, kayak and paddle boat races. The five-acre lake, located next to Town Square in the heart of Waterville Valley, will have a designated course for paddlers. The regatta starts at 11:30 a.m. Registration opens at 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three places in each event. There is a $5 per person entry fee per race.
Following the boat races, get creative and enter the popular “Boat Oughta Float” homemade boat competition. Families or groups wishing to participate should have their boat constructed prior to event day and be prepared to launch and paddle their craft in the race by noon. There is no fee to participate in the Boat Oughta Float race. These fun annual events are hosted by the Waterville Valley Recreation Department.
Following the fun on the water, “Waterville Goes Country” with a free outdoor concert in Town Square by local favorite, Jimmy Lehoux, from 6 to 9 p.m. You can also enjoy a free performance of Sugar-Coated Shakespeare under the Town Square tent, laser tag at the Recreation Department, and much more family-friendly activities.
