Prime and Shaner Acquire Jacksonville Holiday Inn
STATE COLLEGE, PA, July 16, 2012 – Officials of Shaner Hotels, a developer/owner/operator that currently operates 40 hotels, announced today it had been selected to manage the Holiday Inn Jacksonville E 295 Baymeadows hotel, located at 11083 Nurseryfields Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32256. The hotel was purchased in April by the Prime Hospitality Group, an affiliate of the Prime Group, a commercial and residential developer based in Hollywood, Florida.
“When we purchased this hotel, it represented an ideal opportunity to add to our hospitality portfolio,” said Prime Group CEO, Larry Abbo. “Through our partnership with Shaner Hotels; we feel there is an excellent opportunity for business growth as well as growth in asset value.” Plato Ghinos, President of Shaner Hotels commented, “The Holiday Inn Jacksonville E 295 Baymeadows hotel represents our fourth partnership with the Prime Group. We value our relationship with them and anticipate working with them in the development of hotel projects in Marathon, Delray, and Key Largo.”
Located centrally close to the University of North Florida, the Mayo Clinic and Town Center Mall with over 100 shops and dining, the full-service hotel - which opened in 2008 - features 98 guest rooms and serves breakfast and dinner in Kem’s Restaurant. It’s City Grand Conference Center has over 4,000 square feet of flexible meeting, conference and banquet space to accommodate groups to 400.

Guests are noting the difference as well, as the Holiday Inn is currently ranked 15 out of 132 Jacksonville area hotels by traveler review site TripAdvisor, with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. It has also been awarded a three-diamond rating from AAA.
