There is nothing like fall in New England, and Waterville Valley Resort, located in the middle of the White Mountain National Forest, has a full slate on tap this fall for those seeking the best colors of foliage season.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - August 26th, 2013 - Waterville Valley, NH –There is nothing like fall in New England, and Waterville Valley Resort, located in the middle of the White Mountain National Forest, has a full slate on tap this fall for those seeking the best colors of foliage season.

Town Square Condos is offering an Autumn Wine & Dine package that will be a plus while enjoying the brilliant colors of autumn in the White Mountains. This package includes lodging in a premium 1-bedroom condo at Town Square, a gourmet 3-course dinner at The Lantern Restaurant, and a 25% discount on bottled wine. Autumn rates are $200 for two guests per night during the week, and $227 per night at weekends.  Additional guests may be added to the package, and upgrades to a 3-bedroom condo are possible.  Room-only rates in Town Square Condos start at $129 midweek and $149 weekend. Both packages and room-only rates include Freedom Pass activities like golf, tennis, mountain bike rental, guided bike tours, weekend canoe and paddle boat rentals, and admission to the White Mountain Athletic Club.

Waterville Valley’s Town Square hosts several festivals to complement the foliage season. On Sunday, September 1,  from 11 to 9 pm, welcome the colorful fall season with the End of Summer Bash -  free outdoor concerts, games for all members of the family, a BBQ and sidewalk sales. Not to be missed is the annual charity Duck Race on Corcoran Pond, where contestants have the chance to win cash prizes if their duck is one of the three fastest.

Friday, September 27, Waterville Valley hosts the first ever Finale in the Valley high school cross-country race, on the well-maintained biking trail network and culminating in Town Square.  That same weekend, the White Mountain Storytelling Festival returns to Waterville Valley for the third year, September 2729, bringing tales for guests of all ages. More than a dozen experienced storytellers will share tales including ghost stories, children’s stories, and stories for adults. A special storytelling session with a nationally known storyteller headlines the Festival on Saturday night, and Sunday morning closes with Sacred Stories. Saturday, September 28, guests find out who can take the heat at the 15th annual Chili Challenge. This event will be held in the Town Square with area restaurants competing for the coveted title of ‘best chili around.’ For a small fee, sample each of the contenders’ entries, and then cast your vote for your favorite spicy recipes. Chili Challenge is accompanied by an outdoor concert in the gazebo.  From noon until the chili is gone: Sampling of all Chili Challenge entries - $7.00 for adults - $5.00 for children 12 and under.

For those who love motor vehicles, the 2nd Annual Rally in the Valley will be held in Waterville Valley on Saturday, October 5. Presented by the East Coast Camaro Club, the rally will feature cars, music, food, and a 50/50 raffle. Dash plaques will be presented to the first 100 vehicles.

Celebrate the arrival of fall with Waterville Valley’s Fall Foliage Fest over Columbus Day Weekend, October 12-14. A weekend of fun family events is planned including kids’ games, pumpkin painting, and a pie-eating contest. For those looking for a deal, there will be merchant tent sales and the annual BBTS ski and snowboard swap.  On Sunday October 13, the Resort is hosting a 5K run/walk to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure NH/VT Affiliate.  

Foliage is the perfect time of the year to hike and bike Waterville Valley’s extensive trail system that includes more than 30 miles of marked and maintained mountain bike trails and over 100 miles of hiking trails and paths. Whether it’s a leisurely ride around town or a dirt-kicking expedition through the autumn woods, you’ll find plenty of trails to suit your mood.
