CELEBRATE LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN WATERVILLE VALLEY

Sunday September 1st, send out the summer with a bang during the “Just Ducky” End of Summer Bash in Town Square.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - August 26th, 2013 - WATERVILLE VALLEY - Head into the Valley Labor Day Weekend for a weekend of live music, family activities, charity duck race, and fireworks.  Most activities are free to the public.   

Fun starts with Open Mic Night, Friday, 6:30-8:30 pm in Town Square, with host and musician Doug Thompson. Guests are encouraged to step up to the mic and perform their favorite song or story or bring their instrument and show off their skills. Saturday, Back on the Train brings their mix of roots rock, reggae, and soul, classic covers and originals to the gazebo stage from 5:30 – 8:30pm.  Pull up a chair and get to know the boys from Portsmouth.  Guests are welcome to bring their own blankets, chairs, and beverages, or to use those provided and available in Town Square.

Sunday September 1st, send out the summer with a bang during the “Just Ducky” End of Summer Bash in Town Square.  The day includes fun family games, bounce house, The North Face Fashion show, Valley Snow Dogz Meet & Greet, outdoor BBQ, and more, with the sweet sounds of Jimmy & Marcelle pouring from the gazebo stage midday.  During the day make sure to pick up your rubber ducky “chance”, available at various Town Square shops.  Duck chances for this annual fundraiser are $3 each, with proceeds benefitting the Plymouth Pemi Bridge House.  Cash prizes go to the first three ducks across the finish line and something quacky will be given to the owner of the last ducky to float across the finish line.  Duck race is at 5 pm, followed by a free outdoor concert by returning favorite The Tammy Jackson Band, and leading right into the Labor Day Celebration fireworks over Corcoran Pond at 8:30pm.

Family fun doesn’t end there; stop in on the Lower Level of Town Square Monday from 10 - 11am for the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center Live Animal presentation, which gives kids of all ages a chance to get up close and personal with native New Hampshire wildlife. 

Other activities for families of all ages – including Curious George Story Time, Laser Tag night, Open Gym, Open Art Gallery, and many more - will be hosted throughout the weekend for families of all ages, by the Margret & H.A. Rey Center and by the Waterville Valley Recreation Department.

The Waterville Valley Summer Unlimited package includes boating, mountain biking, tennis, golf, access to the White Mountain Athletic Club, use of the Waterville Valley shuttle, guided bike tours, ice skating in the indoor arena, and access to the Waterville Valley Recreation’s open gym program.
