GRAND CANYON TOURS CHOPS PRICES ON LABOR DAY RAFTING TOURS
Industry: Tours

The last major U.S. summer holiday is right around the corner. If you're looking to take a 1-day float or white water rafting tour, now's the time. But book it today to get the lowest rates.

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED STATES - August 27th, 2013 - Grand Canyon Tours, the leading provider of information about the National Park, today announced that travelers can save up to 15 percent on 1-day float and white water rafting trips this Labor Day weekend.

"Markdowns include some of the canyon's most popular one-day smooth water & whitewater rafting trips," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Tours. "If you've ever wanted to experience the Colorado River, now's the time!"

Rafting day trips are available from Tusayan, AZ, Flagstaff, AZ, Williams, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV. Trips depart in the morning around 7 a.m. and require a full day to complete. "Do one of these tours and you can truly go back and say you've done the Grand Canyon," said Kravitz.

Las Vegas options include a self-drive white water package and one that includes a helicopter ride to the bottom with a float ride from Hoover Dam to Willow Beach, AZ. "The white water trip is the only one on the market," Kravitz noted," and the float tour will take you past some of the deepest recesses of Black Canyon."

South Rim rafting trips, too, feature smooth-water and white water options. There's a basic float tour that starts with a bus ride to the Glen Canyon Dam and then a 15.3-mile float down the Colorado to historic Lee's Ferry. "The sights are spectacular," said Kravitz. "You'll even cruise past famous Horseshoe Bend."

The deluxe South Rim float trip starts with a one-hour airplane flight to Page, AZ. From there, travelers transfer to a Jeep for a 4x4 tour of Antelope Canyon before heading to the Dam to embark on the rafting segment of the package. "This trip lets travelers experience the canyon from a multitude of perspectives," Kravitz said. "If you're looking for the ultimate float, this is it."

The South Rim 1-day white water trip is available to travelers in Flagstaff, AZ, and Williams, AZ. Tusayan (a/k/a South Rim) visitors will have to drive to either town to participate in this daylong adventure. "This white water package kicks off with a Jeep ride to the bottom of the canyon, and then upwards of 40 miles on the river whereupon you'll encounter rapids ranging in scale from 1-7," Kravitz said. "It's one of the area's hottest adventures."

Labor Day, which is on Mon., Sept. 2, is expected to be busy time at the National Park, and it's why Kravitz is recommending that travelers book now. "My suggestion is to purchase seats at least a week in advance," he said. "That way you'll get the time and date you want. That said, if you get caught in a time pinch, there's a chance you'll get what you want if you book more than 72 hours out but I wouldn’t push it.”

For the best prices on 1-day rafting tours, Kravitz recommends shopping online. "The best deals are on the Internet," he said. "Just make sure you are purchasing your trip from a certified rafting tour company. Further, and in order to get the Internet discount, make certain you complete your transaction on the Web. So many travelers forget that and end up paying retail."
