A RAMBLERS’ WALKING SAFARI IN KENYA: Special departure January 10 to inaugurate new walking safaris in Kenya

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - September 4th, 2013 - (Montclair, Va. August 27, 2013)    “With more than 25 years experience hosting meticulously organized walking tours in Britain, English Lakeland Ramblers is about to expand its horizons,” said Ramblers CEO Jeff Kendrick in a surprising announcement this month.  “Many of our regular guests, some of whom have made dozens of tours of England, Scotland and Wales, have asked for new destinations so we’re augmenting England’s Lake Windermere and Ullswater by adding Kenyan lakes like Naivasha and Bogoria.  Or to put it another way, we’re moving from placid sheep and cattle to sprightly impalas and klipspringer antelopes in one easy hop!”

To inaugurate these new Kenya walking safaris, Ramblers announces a special departure with an introductory rate: January 10 - 20, 2014.   Limited space!

Land prices Nairobi-Nairobi begin at just $4,375 ($437 a day per person) double occupancy, including lodgings, meals, private 6-seater safari-van, game drives and walks, English-speaking drivers/guides, entrance fees and a steady supply of chilled bottled water.  (“We include a spa for an overnight stay along the way but foot massages are extra!”)

Ramblers carefully selected lodgings reflect both the new and the classic Africa: guests will relax in a 5-star city hotel, a spa resort, a colonial-era homestead inn, a traditional thatched banda, a luxury tent – even a golf resort.  Dining will feature a range of cuisines – from sophisticated global dining in Nairobi to bush-style breakfasts to home-cooked dinners by the romantic light of oil lamps.

Flamingoes, Impalas, Giraffes, and the ‘Big Five’

“Walk on the Wild Side” is ten days of nonstop highlights, especially since seven of those days are spent well off-the-beaten tourist track.  Here are some of the high spots  you’ll be hearing about from Ramblers’ knowledgeable local guides:

Crescent Island – one of the few places in Kenya where travelers can actually walk with the animals (no fences, no cars, no predators);

Hiking the otherworldly landscapes of an extinct volcano in the Menengai Crater;

Kakamega Forest Reserve – a tropical wonderland filled with 350 species of birds, hosts of monkeys and miles of marked trails weaving through exotic foliage;

Two days of game drives, tracking the ‘big five’ through the vast, spare plains of the Masai Mara;
Exploring Hell’s Gate National Park and trying to decide whether to point your camera at dramatic rock formations or herds of zebra, hartebeest and gazelles – you name it.

Private Tours on Demand

Don’t even bother to ask about additional dates: decide when you want to go and book a private tour  – from two people to whatever, with private safari vans and private support team.  Ramblers will handle all the details.  All you have to do is remember to recharge your camera!
