Discover little-known treks that rival the world's best trails by subscribing to the S&TT blog and getting the free guide
(TRAVPR.COM) CANADA - September 14th, 2013 - A new PDF guide that helps travelers discover little-known alternatives to some of the world’s most crowded treks officially launched this week.
Hikers will be e-mailed a free copy of ’23 Amazing Treks That Won’t Stay Hidden For Long’ when they subscribe to blog updates from the hiking website Slick & Twisted Trails (S&TT).
S&TT editor Dustin Walker said part of the reason he created this guide was to encourage more people to seek out lesser-known trails and experience new places.
“Treks like the Inca Trail and Annapurna Circuit are still amazing routes to explore,” said Walker, who lives in Nanaimo, B.C., Canada. “But these areas have become much busier over the years and some trekkers prefer trails that are quieter, more secluded and far less known. This guide aims to connect people with those types of places.”
In addition to featuring alternatives to some of the world’s most popular treks, like the Appalachian Trail and West Coast Trail, the guide also highlights a series of bizarre hiking routes. This includes a trek that’s underwater part of the year and a trail that leads to a lookout over Area 51.
