(TRAVPR.COM) PORTUGAL - September 27th, 2013 - It's World Tourism Day and Travel Agents around the world are a key player in Tourism. Although some times forgotten, Travel Agents had and still continue having a key role on all travel related activities and are responsible for moving thousands of people around the world.
According to the World Tourism Organization, UNWTO, the United Nations agency in charge of the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism, Tourism is a "social, cultural and economic phenomenon, which entails the movement of people to countries or places outside their usual environment for personal or business/professional purposes".
This movement of people is the center of Travel Agents’ work, who are the key element in Tourism. By connecting all the travel stakeholders either online or offline, they simplify the whole travel process. Travel agents connect people with leisure, recreational or business purposes, they are responsible for uncovering a lot of earth's hidden treasures and for connecting the different cultures around the world.
To celebrate all Travel Agents around the world, TTS has released a tribute video. The video is available at http://youtu.be/ofvyVTqg2AY
