AGE NO LIMIT AT MUMBO ISLAND!
Industry: Destinations

Mumbo Island was recently visited by a group of four septuagenarians from Sweden, who amazed both staff and other guests with their incredible activity.

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - October 18th, 2013 - Mumbo Island was recently visited by a group of four septuagenarians from Sweden, who amazed both staff and other guests with their incredible activity. All four of these fit seventy-year-olds enjoyed swimming, kayaking and hiking all over Mumbo and seemed to be constantly engaged in one or other activity for the entire two days of their stay. At the end of it, they professed to have loved their stay on Mumbo over all the places they had been on their many travels and swore to return with their friends and families. The staff are now in intense training after they realised they needed to step up their game to keep up with this new market!

At the other end of the scale Domwe recently played host to a number of Girl Guides as they popped over to the island for a bit of relaxation. The Scout 2013 Jamboree was held in Cape Maclear in August, making Cape Maclear the centre of attraction for many tourists from all over the world. A group from the World Association of Girls Guides and Scouts visited Domwe for 3 days after the Jamboree. The eighteen girls relaxed on Domwe at the end of their two week stay in Malawi after giving talks at various schools and church gatherings. They all loved Domwe Island, especially the kayak to the island and its remoteness and quiet as a reflective time at the end of a busy stay.

University Student From Mzuzu Comes to Kayak Africa For His On-Site Training
Kayak Africa are very happy to have a new trainee in Hotel Management who seconded to the company to do his on-site work experience. Patrick Chipisa is staying with Kayak for five months before he writes the final examinations. His time will see him gain invaluable experience, and of course the extra pair of hands won’t be refused! Patrick will go out to both Mumbo and Domwe Islands for a number of weeks to gain first-hand experience of what goes on behind the scenes at Kayak’s “eco lodge” on Mumbo and their self-catering camp on Domwe. They hope and trust that their strong principles of managing these pristine islands in an environmentally sensitive and sustainable way will become a part of Patrick’s philosophy too.
