Deck the (castle) halls!
It will be an especially merry holiday season at Dromoland Castle this year: after a break of 10 years, the resort will welcome guests to stay not only for New Year’s celebrations, but for Christmas as well. It’s a fitting way to celebrate Dromoland Castle’s fiftieth birthday as a splendid destination resort.
In honor of the anniversary, in celebration of the holidays, and to offer guests greater flexibility in tailoring their visits to enjoy the festivities Irish-style, Dromoland is offering several Christmas and New Year Packages.
- “Deck the Halls” Christmas Two Day Package
The only place more special for celebrating Christmas than Dromoland Castle is home sweet home. Guests can get the best of both by bringing family along to enjoy the SEASON in classic Irish style. On arrival on Christmas Eve they’ll enjoy a mulled wine reception with canapés followed by dinner at 7:00 pm or 8.30pm (for those last minute shoppers). Christmas caroling and a visit from Santa keep the celebration going, with a ballad singer performing in the cocktail bar to ensure dreams of sugar plums. Christmas Day begins with a hearty breakfast followed by a traditional Christmas Day lunch (served at 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm); later that evening, guests will partake of a light buffet supper in front of the log fire. On December 26, another Irish breakfast is on offer to prepare guests for the day ahead. Rates begin at €1500 EUR for 2 adults sharing, for two nights’ accommodation in a luxurious and elegant guest room. (Rates begin at €2220 EUR for 2 adults and 2 children)
- “Christmas One Day Package”
As commitments abound during the holidays, Dromoland has been thoughtful enough to offer a package with a Christmas Day arrival. Check-in begins at 11:00 am, followed by the traditional Christmas Day lunch with a choice of two sittings (1:00 pm and 3:00 pm). As with the “Deck the Halls” package, a light buffet supper and ballads are included, as is one of Dromoland’s famous breakfasts. Rates begin at €900 EUR for 2 adults sharing, for one night’s accommodation. (Rates begin at €1340 EUR for 2 adults and 2 children)
- “Three Night New Year Celebration Package”
Where better to greet the new year and make new memories than the historic hallways of Dromoland Castle? The festivities begin with a cocktail reception in the glorious common rooms of this historic home to royalty. Hearts and tummies will be full later, as guests enjoy a gastronomic event in the elegant Earl of Thomond Restaurant, consisting of a six course gourmet menu created by Executive Chef David McCann, as well as specially selected wines to accompany each course. This is Ireland, so of course entertainment will be provided (by the Residential Dance Band), followed by a champagne toast at midnight and dancing with the DJ on duty until the wee hours. Breakfast is included. Rates begin at €1660 EUR for 2 adults sharing, for three nights’ accommodation. (Rates begin at €2110 EUR for 2 adults and 2 children)
- “Two Night New Year Celebration”
Guests will enjoy all of the hospitality and entertainment included in the Three Night New Year Package, less a third night’s accommodation. Rates begin at €1260 EUR for 2 adults sharing, for two nights’ accommodation. (Rates begin at €1660 EUR for 2 adults and 2 children)
