Established Maun-based safari operator Bush Ways, is proud to announce the opening of their second lodge: Chobe Elephant Camp. This new lodge comes three years after opening the incredibly popular Sango Safari Camp which borders the famous Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana.
(TRAVPR.COM) BOTSWANA - October 31st, 2013 - Situated on a rocky ridge overlooking the spectacular Chobe River Floodplains, Chobe Elephant Camp is located within a wildlife management area and is ideally positioned just 5km from the western entrance to the Chobe National Park. Being so close to another of Botswana’s premier wildlife destinations makes Chobe Elephant Camp the perfect ‘sister lodge’ to Sango Safari Camp and offers guests ample opportunities to explore the wild surroundings while providing a stunning viewpoint onto one of Botswana’s prime destinations.
With an original design reminiscent of traditional African farmsteads, Chobe Elephant Camp breaks away from the usual tented camps and thatched roof lodges: corrugated tin roofs and roughly plastered walls, rustic furniture and exposed wood beams, warm colours, dimmed lights, old galvanised buckets as lampshades, are some of the simultaneously stylish and homely touches bringing guests deep into the heart of Africa’s olden days.
Chobe Elephant Camp can accommodate up to 24 guests in ten twin/double chalets and one family unit. All rooms are en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers and have private verandas to fully enjoy the views and surroundings. The lodge also boasts a large open-plan main area featuring a cosy arrangement of couches, bar, dining area and reading corner, along with a swimming pool with viewing deck onto a private water hole.
Bush Ways has furthermore not skimped on originality and creativity to establish Chobe Elephant Camp as a truly and genuinely eco-friendly lodge, making every effort to drastically reduce their carbon footprint. Sandbags have replaced bricks and concrete for the building of all chalets and units; all the construction timber and furniture has been manufactured from renewable wood sources or reclaimed wood; and solar power and water are being used whenever possible.
Following the success of their traditional tented camp Sango in 2010, Bush Ways hopes to provide once again an authentic African bush experience with Chobe Elephant Camp in one of the most exciting safari destinations of Botswana.
