The first Puerto Plata Golf Tournament Golf Classic will be held on Saturday, November  23, 2013 , on the Playa Dorada golf course.

This tournament was created to promote the destination and golf courses of Puerto Plata and we expect the event to become a prominent annual fixture on the tourism calendar.  This Golf Classic will be good fun and memorable for participating golfers and will enable Puerto Plata to increase the interest of national and international golfers.

The availability of the renowned golf course of Playa Dorada, designed by Robert Trent Jones , along with other courses of equal quality in the region, and local favourable climatic conditions allows this sport to be played throughout the year in the Dominican Republic.

Puerto Plata will be launching their new tourism awareness programme May 2013 "Smile ! Puerto Plata " or  “Sonríe! Eres Puerto Plata”,
