New General Manager Appointed at The Zuri Kumarakom, Kerala Resorts & Spa
14th November, Bangalore/Kumarakom: The Zuri Hotels & Resorts is happy to announce the elevation of Mr. Sarat Valsraj, who has recently taken charge as the new General Manager of The Zuri Kumarakom, Kerala Resort & Spa.
With over 17 years of hospitality experience, Mr. Valsraj brings with him keen managerial and strategic insights and learning that he seeks to implement in his new role at Zuri. An advantage he believes he has gained from the hands-on experience of rising up the ranks through many fruitful years of holding various responsibilities across different hotels and regions.
Mr. Valsraj joined The Zuri Hotels & Resorts as the Food and Beverage Manager in the year 2008, while the Kumarakom property was still managed as The Radisson Plaza Resort and Spa, Kumarakom. Over time, he had made steady progress, holding many different positions and rising to become the Resident Manager by 2013. He has worked at all properties of The Zuri Hotels & Resorts, both domestic and international, and has played an instrumental part in the group’s critical rebranding exercise.
Mr. Valsraj graduated with a Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology from the Rizvi College of Hotel Management & Catering, Mumbai, immediately after which he started his career at The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai. Following a 11 year stint at The Leela, Mr. Valsraj moved to The Sahara Star Mumbai where he was part of the pre-opening team responsible for the launch of the group’s new venture. Mr. Valsraj is also certified in Strategic Management from the reputed Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, and holds a certificate in International Trade from the Symbiosis Center for Distance Learning.
The Zuri Kumarakom, Kerala Resort & Spa will benefit from the able leadership of Mr. Valsraj as he takes over the flagship property that seeks to grow with many exciting challenges ahead of it. His keen sense of judgement and a unique management style will bring a focused sense of direction and concerted team effort, driving one of the crown jewels of The Zuri Hotels & Resorts towards greater success.
While steering the Kumarakom property takes up most of his time, Mr. Valsraj loves to wind down when he finds the chance. He loves to spend time with his family, and is always ready to whip up a good home-cooked seafood meal. He also likes his books and movies, and is a keen outdoor sportsman.
