NEW DIVE CENTRE NOW OPEN - ALONG WITH NEW LAKE ACTIVITIES AND EQUIPMENT.
Industry: Marketing

Blue Zebra Island Lodge is one of Malawi's newest lodges and set within the Maleri group of Islands, it provides a supreme snorkelling and diving experience.

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - November 22nd, 2013 - Blue Zebra Island Lodge is one of Malawi's newest lodges and set within the Maleri group of Islands, it provides a supreme snorkelling and diving experience.

Improvements and developments at the lodge have been ongoing and we're now pleased to announce that their dive centre is officially open! It's led and run by a fully qualified dive instructor who at present is busy mapping the secrets that lay beneath the surface.

A number of dives are available, from set routes suitable and matched to guests' experience, to longer exploration dives where you can discover areas not even the instructor has been to.

So what is there to see? Lake Malawi is famous for its vast array of cichilds fish - a species unique to the lake. With dazzling colours and presenting themselves in all different shapes and sizes there is as much to see below the lake as above. Divers can also expect to see large catfish and their huge crater-like nests, and mouth brooders nursing their young. Blue Zebra is nestled within a world heritage site, so there is great emphasis on conservation and protection of the natural environment - which makes it a perfect place for spotting the animals depleted in other areas of Africa.

The islands are also home to many otter families, so divers stand a chance of seeing them in action in their natural environment. Blue Zebra dive centre can cater for all levels of expertise – from the complete novice to experts. The lodge's infinity pool is a perfect place for new-comers to familiarise themselves with the equipment before venturing into the Lake. The fully equipped dive centre offers both leisure dives and PADI certification. A high speed power boat makes Cape MaClear dive sites accessible to its guests as well, including some tunnel dive sites and the world famous Zimbabwe rock, which was rated the world's second best fresh water dive site.

New Stingray Boat
8.5m long, 10 seats, 2 x 100hp outboard powerful engines, equipped with an easy boarding facility, the new Stingray decked rib boat is comfortable, stable and safe. Ideal for boat trips around Maleri lslands, long transfers from or to any other places around the lake, or perhaps just for a rush of adrenaline while wake-boarding the new boat is real asset to the island.

New Kayaks
For those who want to enjoy stunning views and pristine waters while still remaining active, why not set out on one of Blue Zebra's single or double kayaks? A unique and eco-friendly way to enjoy the bird life and natural beauty of the Mareli Islands on your own terms, the lodge boasts 7 top of the line kayaks, free for guests to use.

New Wake Board
How about a trip across the lake racing at 60km an hour? Blue Zebra's brand new wake-boards let you do just that! Experience the exciting feeling of flying over the fresh clear water of the lake in this adrenaline filled upcoming sport - now available at Blue Zebra.
