Acacia Africa's brochure launch includes some of the continent's up and coming eco hot spots
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - November 24th, 2013 - Acacia Africa is launching a raft of new overland tours covering some of the globe’s hottest eco destinations. Mozambique and Zimbabwe feature prominently in the tour operator’s 2014 brochure – Africa’s hidden jewel already acknowledged as a global leader in conservation by the World Wildlife Fund.
Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago is located on the country’s southern coast, the national marine park one of the latest additions to the adventure specialist’s portfolio.
Arno Delport, Sales & Marketing Manager, comment “Largely undeveloped the islands are ideal for anyone in search of a laid back and less touristy beach experience, the coastal town of Vilanculos, the gateway to the Bazaruto archipelago, only a short dhow ride from Magaruque Island where you can hike to a 19th century fort, snorkel with reef fish and turtles or feel the rush on a drift dive. All the more alluring due to their relative obscurity, it’s easy to see why the region has been recognised by the WWF as a gift to the earth.”
Further south there are yet more undiscovered beach backdrops; Xai Xai’s coral reef running parallel to the shore, a magnet for a variety of marine life, and Tofo, a whale shark and manta ray haunt on the humpback whales’ migratory route.”
Acacia Africa is launching four new overland expeditions covering Mozambique. Prices start from £715pp (no single supplement) + local payment from £395pp on the 14-day Mozambique & Zimbabwe Explorer. First scheduled departure 29 May 2014.
Still great value for money and making great strides in conservation Zimbabwe is another hot destination for eco-travellers: Acacia Africa’s 7-day Rediscover Zimbabwe small group safari priced from only £495pp (two sharing) plus local payment of £255pp. Running from 14 to 39-days, the tour operator is launching four new camping overland itineraries covering the country - Zimbabwe also featuring in Acacia Africa's new Accommodated Overland portfolio.
Various wildlife projects are ongoing in Hwange, Zimbabwe’s premier national park home to one of Africa’s largest populations of wild dog and the world renowned Painted Dog Project. A major highlight on the 39-day Game Parks, Zanzibar & Mozambique itinerary, the overland expedition also features walking safaris in Matobo National Park famous for its herds of endangered white rhino – another of the country’s conservation success stories. An exciting time to book, Getting Stamped travel bloggers, Hannah and Adam, will be joining the inagural tour, the first departure scheduled for 04 May. From £1,860pp (no single supplement) + local payment from £993pp.
