PALM VALLEY EXECUTIVE LODGE SET TO DOUBLE NUMBER OF ROOMS THIS YEAR
Industry: Hotels

Palm Valley Executive Lodge is one of Blantyre’s newest properties and offers an ‘out-of-city’ option for those wanting to be based centrally within South Malawi. Close enough to all the amenities a big city offers, it gives just a little more seclusion and, set within over 15 acres of land, provides a slightly more peaceful atmosphere.

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - November 27th, 2013 - Palm Valley Executive Lodge is one of Blantyre’s newest properties and offers an ‘out-of-city’ option for those wanting to be based centrally within South Malawi. Close enough to all the amenities a big city offers, it gives just a little more seclusion and, set within over 15 acres of land, provides a slightly more peaceful atmosphere.

There is something very special about Palm Valley; it was never built with the intention of being a hotel/lodge. Constructed 10 years ago by its Malawian owners its purpose at first was to be a stunning family home. This still comes across, with warm and homely living areas, a family feel to the way the staff interact with guests, and rooms that are designed to be comfy as well as modern.

To get to Palm Valley take the Thylo road south out of Blantyre. It’s just ten minutes down the road, and after turning off down a short sand track you’ll arrive. Turn left down the driveway and you’re overwhelmed with views of the valley that stretch for miles, framed by a garden that most would die for. Hundreds of varieties of plants grace the lush and well-kept lawns, as well as being a natural attraction for a diverse range of bird life that feast on the berries and fruits.

The lodge at present offers six premier double rooms, but can cater for up to 100 within its grounds for events such as weddings and big parties. Building work is discreetly being carried out to expand the number of rooms to 13, which should be complete within the next 12 months. An additional conference facility is also being built which will provide room for up to 100 to be seated.

If you’re looking for somewhere to explore the south from, this is a great option. Just a 45 minute drive from Blantyre airport as well, it makes for lovely arrival / pre-departure stay, giving you chance to wind down before you set off on your adventure in the South or return back home.
