The closure of the Airparks Glasgow Airport parking site this week could see airport parking rates rise at the airport in the run up to Christmas.
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - November 28th, 2013 - The closure of the Airparks Glasgow Airport parking site this week could see airport parking rates rise at the airport in the run up to Christmas.
Airparks Management Limited (AML), which operates the Glasgow Airport site, was placed into administration earlier this week and the closure of the Glasgow car park could increase demand for spaces, especially Park and Ride services, at one of the busiest times of the year.
AML leases the Airparks name from HEIL (Holiday Extras Investments Limited), but is owned independently.
Holiday Extras have entered into a new agreement at Glasgow Airport with the Flying Scot car park and will move all their existing customers to that site, putting further pressure on availability.
Ken Foster, marketing manager for leading airport parking provider SkyParkSecure said: “We are obviously very sad to hear about the closure of the Airparks site at Glasgow Airport. The car park held a large number of vehicles and this could impact on the availability for airport parking spaces at Glasgow Airport, especially Park and Ride facilities, in the run up to Christmas.
“Prices are subject to change and in view of the situation it would be very wise to book early for Glasgow Airport this year to avoid disappointment.”
