EXPLORE SOUTHERN SPAIN WITH 1000 PLACES TO SEE BEFORE YOU DIEŽ AUTHOR PATRICIA SCHULTZ
Industry: Tours

Offered exclusively through Palace Tours: Tour Spain with Acclaimed Author Patricia Schultz

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED STATES - December 3rd, 2013 -

Palace Tours and Workman Publishing are pleased to announce the launch of the Signature Journey - the first 1,000 Places to See Before You Die® Experience, a luxury train trip through southern Spain departing September 21, 2014.

Guests will be joined by Patricia Schultz, the author of the New York Times bestseller 1,000 Places To See Before You Die®, for this chance to discover the region's breath-taking landscapes, rich culture and fascinating heritage sites aboard the luxury Al Andalus. The 7-day tour will begin in Seville and make its first stops in Cadiz and Jerez where a visit to a local sherry wine producer is followed by a special equestrian show at the Royal Academy.

Ronda, the birthplace of bullfighting in Spain, the world capital of olive production of Jaen, and the small, perfectly preserved town of Ubeda will follow. In Granada, the group will be among the first visitors of the day to explore the magnificent Alhambra Palace and the romantic Gardens of Generalife. They will learn about Cordoba's important Old Quarter, where Christians, Jews and Muslims continue to live in harmony, and the Mezquita, the famous mosque-cathedral whose construction dates back to the 8th century.

Also known as Spain’s Palace on Wheels of Spain, Al Andalus is one of the world's great historic trains, painstakingly refurbished with  32 ensuite rooms, two restaurant cars, a lounge, reception car and a well stocked bar. The carriages of the Al Andalus were used by the British Royal family as they journeyed from Calais to the Cote d’Azur. The train has also recently remodeled seven suite sleepers, five of which were built in France in 1929. The Belle Epoque inspired suites have been enhanced with modern features, while preserving their historical value and charm for the comfort and enjoyment of the guests. All breakfasts are served on board, while lunches and dinners will be enjoyed in local restaurants chosen to showcase the area's authentic Spanish wines and cuisine.

Bestselling author Patricia Schultz is excited to host a trip whose itinerary includes locations featured  in 1,000 Places to See Before You Die®. "I discovered the magic of Andalusia years ago when living in Madrid as a wide-eyed college student. Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba – these are all names of places that are rich in history, music, romance. Connect the dots with a historic train that serves as our luxury hotel on wheels and you have a most unique Andalusian odyssey."
