(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - December 4th, 2013 - Baros Maldives has won extraordinary recognition by the worldwide travel trade with the presentation of two World Travel Awards for 2013: “The Most Romantic Hotel in the World” and also “The World’s Leading Island Villas.”
At the 20th annual World Travel Awards (WTA) Grand Final Gala Ceremony held on 30 November 2013 at La Cigale Hotel in Doha, Qatar, the awards were accepted on behalf of Baros Maldives by Joanna Koski, the Resort’s Marketing Manager.
There were 11 other resorts -- from Antigua, Argentina, Bahamas, Dubai, Mauritius, Thailand and Turkey -- nominated for the award of the World’s Most Romantic Resort. Finalists for the World’s Leading Island Villas came from Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Fiji, Cook Islands, and Polynesia. The previous winners of the World’s Leading Island Villas award have all been in the Pacific.
Nominations come from members of the travel industry and those associated professionally with the travel trade, and are based on regularly conducted expert evaluations.
The World Travel Awards is the most prestigious, comprehensive and sought after awards programme in the global travel and tourism industry. To be voted a World Travel Award winner is an accolade that many strive for but few achieve.
