Austria's hidden gem: Hotel Tannenhof, St Anton
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - December 16th, 2013 -
**Introducing Hotel Tannenhof, an Austrian 7-suite, 5-star superior mountain retreat for the discerning traveller**
The Hotel Tannenhof is one of just 13 5* superior hotels throughout Austria...but none beat the position and exclusivity of this exquisite private property set high on the hills of Nasserein on the edge of St Anton’s main village. At 1,350 meters above sea level, The Tannenhof sits within one of the most beautiful ski areas in Austria.
With the aim of providing guests with absolute privacy and the highest levels of service coupled with culinary excellence and a full service holistic wellbeing Spa, new Directors Judith Volker and Axel Bach welcome you into their home to share in the secrets that has made this place so special since it first opened its doors in 1925 and soon after became a meeting place for the Alberg region’s high-society.
Now, a completely new story has begun. Each of the seven suites are unique with emphasis on the very best use of fabrics, interior design and crafted furniture…as only you would find in the very finest Tyrolean home. The beds are sumptuous in the way that can only be achieved with Austrian linen and the suites are vast and decadent, with touches such as personal music selections for the shower and the cleverest thermal baths to prolong your post-ski soak. The Master Suite which sleeps 4 offers families or friends two exquisite separate sleeping areas, dining and lounge area, a private office and panoramic terrace over the valley.
The latest technology subtly surrounds you throughout Tannenhof…whether you discover a favourite on your search in the wine cellar and press your remote keypad to deliver you a glass at your evening dinner or to use your room key to automatically open your personally climate controlled ski locker (…reached by the heated outdoor steps). Nothing is too much trouble. Forgotten your reading glasses? No problem. Need to bring your four-legged friend? Which dog bed would you like? Are you following a special diet? Your personal chef will advise you.
For post-ski or individualised spa-breaks and Spring and Summer visits, just 16 guests share the Spa which offers a space to rival some of the most well respected larger Alpine hotels. A swimming pool (with jet stream), a full Hammam area with plunge pool and indoor steam room, indoor and outdoor sauna and full service gym go hand in hand with the range of treatments on offer using Alpienne Organics. The terrace, with its views down the mountain, makes the perfect place to rejuvenate, wrapped up in blankets in the winter months or on the day-beds in summer.
Cuisine follows the ‘garden to plate’ mantra - fresh, delicate flavours and a range of the finest meats, fish and vegetables combine with championing some of the best local producers. Fresh breads, afternoon teas and the tastiest canapés are created daily with Chef Markus Kurz and his team ensuring that the kitchen is very much at the heart of this home.
