IRCTC is all set to launch a special pilgrimage train from Jaipur on 20th January 2014, covering 5 Jyotirlingas in three states of India during its 10-day itinerary…
(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - January 15th, 2014 - Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will launch a special pilgrimage train from Jaipur city of Rajasthan on 20th January 2014. This train is going to cover 5 Jyotirlingas in three states of the country. During its scheduled 10-day itinerary, the train will reach Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh state on 21st January so that the pilgrims can visit Mahakaleshwar. The destination for the next day will be Dwarka in Gujarat. After night stay in Gujarat, the passengers on Jan 23rd will visit Nageshwar Jyotirlinga.
On January 24th, the train will arrive at Somnath Jyotirlinga in Veraval, next day it will be Aurangabad and on January 26th, the pilgrims will visit the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga. This train will now continue its journey towards Nasik where after arrival; the passengers will visit the Trayambakeshwar Jyotirlinga, the last religious site, before coming back to Jaipur on 29th January.
“We have planned the tour in a package. We will provide all the three meals and lodging during the journey. It includes all the facilities during the journey,” informed Yogendra Singh Gurjar, Tourism Manager, IRCTC.
There are 12 Jyotirlinga all around the country. During this itinerary, pilgrims get a chance to pay homage to five of them- Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Somnath Jyotirlinga, Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga and Trayambakeshwar Jyotirlinga. A Jyotirlinga or Jyotirlingam is that religious spot where Lord Shiva, a popular Hindu God is worshipped in the form of a Jyotirlinga, ‘Lingam of light’. Devotees of Lord Shiva visit all the 12 Jyotirlingas, at least once in a lifetime.
On February 1st, IRCTC will launch another special train for the pilgrimages of Southern India. This train will traverse through Reinungunta so that devotees can visit Tirupati Balaji and Kanchi Kamakshi temple in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, the well-known Rameshwaram temple and Meenakshi temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu and Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. This train will be back in Jaipur on 12th February.
