A summary of the Events & Deals happening in the Lakes Region during the month of February.
(TRAVPR.COM) NEW HAMPSHIRE - January 21st, 2014 - Winter sports season is in full swing. Many venture to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire to take advantage of the deep snow and frozen lakes.
Visitors have many lodging discounts to take advantage of in the Lakes Region this February, including the Winter Escape package with The Tilton Inn offering 30% off room rates. The Inn at Smith Cove is offering 30% discounts until May with water views, ice fishing and snowmobile access from their parking lot. Skiers will want to take advantage of the Purity Spring Resort Two Night Ski & Stay package offering discounts on lift tickets and free breakfast each day.
Here are a few of the highly anticipated events going on in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire this February:
- New England Pond Hockey Classic on Lake Winnipesaukee is one of the largest pond hockey tournaments in North America. Saturday & Sunday February 1st – 2nd. Visit the online schedule of events for details on each day’s activities.
- Meredith Great Rotary Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Winnipesaukee this event brings ice fisherman from across the country to Meredith for a weekend of fun and fishing with the chance to win big prizes. February 8th – 9th.
- Storyteller Dinners at the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich, NH. Thursday evenings (except holidays) through the end of May. Dinners begin at 6:30pm and feature a different storyteller each Thursday.
- Doktor Kaboom! performs at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, NH. Join Doktor Kaboom! For a sidesplitting journey as he takes his audience on a educational tour of modern science using humor and comedy. Sunday, February 9th at 1pm and 4pm.
- Of Mice & Men is performed by the Winni Players of the Winnipesaukee Playhouse in Meredith, NH based on John Steinbeck’s 1937 classic tale of two travelling companions. Performances from February 7th – 9th and February 14th – 16th, Friday & Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm.
- Wild Winter Walks at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness, NH. Sunday, February 9th, 16th and 23rd from 1pm-3pm. A series of guided tours of the live animal trail at the science center. Be ready to snowshoe and see beautiful wild animals in their winter fur coats. Snowshoes are available at no extra cost or bring your own.
