The date of commencement for Amarnath Yatra is out. The annual Amarnath Yatra, whose duration has been decided of 44 days, will begin from 28th June and last up till 10th August.
(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - January 24th, 2014 - The high officials of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), on Monday, decided the date of commencement for Amarnath Yatra under the headship of N.N. Vohra. The pilgrim journey, whose duration has been decided of 44 days, is slated to begin from 28th June. Around 7500 pilgrims, excluding devotees who will travel via helicopter to Panjitarni, will get registered each day. The members who participated in the Amarnath Yatra include Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, Pandit Bhajan Sopori, Dr. Ved Kumari Ghai, CEO Navin Chaudhary, CEO Preet Pal Singh and Justice GD Sharma.
In a bid to plan the duration and beginning of the 2014 pilgrimage, the board depended upon suggestions from its subcommittee that is led by the spiritual Guru Shri Shri Ravi Shankar. The subcommittee was formed in July 2011 to make the Yatra schedule. On 13th June, the CEO Navin Chaudhary will arrange a special prayer on the day of Jyesth Purnima. If circumstances allow the plan is to arrange prayer at the Cave Shrine, to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva for the safe and sound conduct of Amarnath Yatra.
The registration process will start from 1st March. As per the Yatra officials, each pilgrim is required to obtain a compulsory health certificate from authorized doctors and medical institutions.
