Scotland’s Leading Leisure Resort To Take Over Management Of The Yorkshire Hotel
(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - February 4th, 2014 - Crieff Hydro, Scotland’s oldest registered trading company and leading leisure resort has announced that it has completed a deal which will see the Company operate and manage The Yorkshire Hotel as part of a joint venture between the hotel’s owner and Crieff Hydro Ltd.
The newly formed Freedom Hotels will be run by John Jennett, Managing Director of Crieff Hydro with Crieff Hydro taking over the management of four hotels previously run by Akkeron Hotels, three of which are situated in the Scottish Highlands.
The Yorkshire Hotel has been owned by Colin Johnston since 2006 when he purchased the property as an investor and was first operated by Swallow Hotels, changing hands four times over the years between four English-based operators, most recently Akkeron Hotels.
The 80-bedroom hotel, situated in the centre of Harrogate will now be one of eight properties which are either owned or managed by Crieff Hydro Ltd, Scotland’s leading leisure resort.
Speaking about the new venture in Harrogate, John Jennett commented; “I’m hugely excited about the Freedom Hotels joint venture and the opportunity we have to develop travel and tourism in one of the UK’s most popular tourist and conferencing destinations.”
We are not looking to replicate Crieff Hydro in Harrogate but customers can expect to become familiar with our unique brand of independence, integrity, warm personality and individuality to create a great place to stay in this popular, historic destination which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Apart from investing in the property to develop facilities, we expect to have a particular focus on bringing together all of the local elements. Engaging with partner businesses locally and understanding what local customers and tourists to the area want from these hotels will be a particular focus.”
