(Cabin John, MD) – Green Earth Travel announces Veggin Up The Creek, an overnight escape from the sultry city summer that lavishes guests with refreshment for body and soul, August 23-24, 2014 in Boonesboro, Maryland.
“We are excited to offer this eclectic mix of opportunities at the banks of historic and beautiful Antietam Creek,” notes Donna Zeigfinger, Green Earth Travel President. “Our compact package of activities will give guests an opportunity to enjoy an immersion in both physical and mental nourishment. We understand that busy schedules make it tough to go away on multi-day camping trip, and they are usually family affairs. If you feel you are due a thank you for non-stop and often selfless work, give yourself permission to take a break from the routine and inform your family they’ll need to take care of themselves for a day: they can do it!
Guests are invited to arrive between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, participate in a welcoming lunch of thoughtfully prepared vegan cuisine, and take a tube down or hike along historic Antietam Creek. Meals, including dinner and breakfast Sunday morning, will be prepared by Velvet’s Vegan Cuisine, whose “classic to causal … scratch-made cooking is guaranteed to spice up your senses,” according to Cam MacQueen, founder of Kale-A-Rama Vegan Festival and Acorns A Go-Go Vegan Fest.” Multi-talented Wanda Perkins will entertain with chamber-folk melodies and lead Hatha Yoga sessions, before guests retire for the evening and again to greet the morning.
Veggin Up The Creek is possible due to a partnership with Outdoor Excursions, host and owner of the event site: visit the Outdoors Excursions website for driving directions. Guests are encouraged to bring their own sleeping gear, non-toxic bug spray and cruelty-free sunscreen, as well as shoes and attire for getting wet or hiking. Tents can be rented for $15.
