Alila Villas Soori brings you an Argentinian ‘Art Tango’ Presented by Diego Menendez and Liliana Rago 25 April – 4 May 2014

(TRAVPR.COM) INDONESIA - March 26th, 2014 - Alila Villas Soori will once again present an exhibition of international arts in April, showcasing the latest works of the talented Argentinian artists Diego Menendez and Liliana Rago.

The couple’s distinctive artistic styles are uniquely expressed in this exhibition of fine paintings. Diego discovered his interest in art at an early age. “I still feel the strange emotion which evoked in me the orange bodied nudes of Modigliani, the mysterious jungles of Rousseau, Picasso’s twisted eyes figures,” he said.

Diego went to national art school in Buenos Aires then flew to Paris to pursue a professional art career. His collections have been exhibited worldwide, at ArtHamptons in New York, St. Germain-en-Laye Art Fair in France, Waterton Gallery in Singapore, and Duta Gallery, Jakarta, which coincided with the launch of his book “Diego Menendez, an Argentinian artist in Indonesia”. His works are also part of permanent collections at France Galerie Modus, Paris and Canfin Gallery, New York.

Liliana Rago graduated from the National Fine Arts Academy of Buenos Aires before settling in Paris in 1981 where she became a professional artist. Her paintings can be found in private and public collections all over the world. Portraits and landscapes have inspired most of her oils, drawings, engravings and sculpture. Since 1990, enthralled by the dance and music of her country, she has depicted the most beautiful tangos of our time, the fluidity of lines touched by a quiet melancholy and suffused with intense emotions.
