E-Trip Africa has become an official sponsor of Gorilla Doctors

(TRAVPR.COM) DE - March 29th, 2014 - Musanze (Rwanda) -  E-Trip Africa, a division of US based Worldwide Travel Group, LLC, has officially become a sponsor of the Gorilla Doctors.  On Wednesday Ben Jennings, General Manager of E-Trip Africa, met with Jessica Burbridge and Dr. Jan Ramer during a visit to the Gorilla Doctors facilities. 

“The Gorilla Doctors project is one of the most successful interventions that I have seen in Africa.  Their mission is clear and the results are measurable,” Ben explains.  “Several independent studies have shown that the medical interventions by Gorilla Doctors are one of the main factors that have helped this critically endangered species recover.”

“I am also impressed with the commitment this project has towards the local community.  Many environmental projects see the local community as an enemy.  Gorilla Doctors understands that the only way to protect natural resources is by involving the community,” states Ben.

Gorilla Doctors is dedicated to saving mountain and Grauer's gorillas one gorilla patient at a time. Their international veterinarian team provides hands-on medical care to sick and injured gorillas living in the national parks of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). With only 880 mountain gorillas left in the world today, the health and well-being of every individual gorilla is vital to the species’ survival.

In addition to providing mountain gorillas with healthcare, the veterinary team monitors the health of DRC’s Grauer’s, or eastern lowland, gorillas and intervenes to help sick individuals when possible. The Gorilla Doctors also help rescue and treat mountain and Grauer’s gorillas orphaned by poachers.
