A survey conducted by Outlook Traveler Magazine, has adjudged Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine as the most favorite pilgrimage destination.

(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - April 1st, 2014 - On a scintillating award ceremony held at New Delhi, on behalf of J& K Tourism Department Director of Tourism; Soujanya Sharma received the award.

Parvez Diwan; Secretary Tourism Government of India was the chief guest and while speaking on the occasion, he states that there is a steep rise in the number of devotees in Vaishno Devi Shrine because it is taken over by Shri Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

He highlights in his speech that tourism sector should develop in various other areas in Katra to retain tourism sector. He divulges that Government of India has been taking various measures to liberalize visa issues so that foreign tourist can flourish at any time of the year. He also compliments all other states for contributing in the promotion of tourism in their respective states.

Ladakh was awarded as the most favorite adventure destination in India. There were various other categories of awards for like most favorite Beach Resort, Heritage destination, Romantic Destination etc distributed in the ceremony.
