Casa Tomarén - San Bartolomé, Lanzarote

Casa Tomarén, a beautiful 18th Century farmhouse and villa complex, on the island of Lanzarote, was selected by British Prime Minister David Cameron and his family for their Easter getaway this week.
David Cameron and his family arrived in Lanzarote on Saturday 12 April for a week long stay. The Camerons stayed in the Casa Sari Wangi, a 2-bedroom villa at the Casa Tomarén complex. Casa Tomarén was recommended to them by a friend who had stayed there at Christmas time. The Prime Minister's wife, Samantha, celebrated her 43rd birthday on Friday 18th.
The owners of Casa Tomarén have been delighted with how smoothly the week has run. Damian Hidalgo, the owner, said that he was impressed by how they had booked one of the villas knowing that some of the other villas had already been rented by other families. He added: "They were not concerned about having exclusivity of the complex for the week, they were happy to share the facilities with everyone else. During this whole week not one demand has been made by the Camerons, no special treatment at all.
Apart from the security personnel, you would never realise that he was such an important person. The three children have been delightful, so happy and well behaved. Samantha had a shiatsu massage one morning and David went jogging in the mornings. One evening they asked us to organise a babysitter for their children which of course we were happy to take care of. The family took advantage of their stay and our location to explore the island in depth."
Casa Sari Wangi is a two-bedroom villa: one has a double-bed, the other has two single beds. An extra bed was added. Both bedrooms have an en-suite. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room. The villa has a private terrace and garden with BBQ.
